Gertie doesn’t slow down when the pavement ends—that’s where she starts paying attention. Gravel, mud, washboard, loose corners… that’s her kind of riding.
The roads most people hesitate at are the ones she trusts the most, because out there, it’s just you, the machine, and whether you’ve got what it takes to keep moving.
She learned early that the backcountry doesn’t care how confident you think you are. It’ll test your judgment, your skill, and your gear—all at once.
And Gertie’s answered that test more times than she can count. Dropped bikes, long pushes, cold mornings with nothing but a fire and a plan… it’s all part of it. She doesn’t complain. She adapts.
If you follow her, you’d better be ready. Not because she’s reckless—she’s not—but because she doesn’t turn around just because things get rough.
And when you finally roll into camp, tired, dusty, and grinning, you realize something: the best roads aren’t the easy ones. They’re the ones Gertie took you down.
Gravel Gertie’s Motto
“The best roads aren’t the easy ones. They’re the ones worth the dust.”
Fun Fact: Gertie has dropped, pushed, and picked up her bike so many times that she swears she can re-load a packed kit in the dark—cold morning fire optional.
