Carla Rivers – her story

Some travellers believe adventure happens by accident.

Carla believes the best adventures happen because somebody planned them well.

Born in Nipawin, Saskatchewan, Carla grew up surrounded by rivers, lakes, forests, and endless opportunities to explore. From an early age, she learned that a successful journey isn’t just about where you’re going—it’s about being prepared for everything that happens along the way.

Like the river otter she represents, Carla is graceful, adaptable, and always thinking several bends ahead.

While her partner, Current Carl, is happy to follow whatever river catches his attention, Carla is usually the one making sure they have enough fuel, the right gear, backup plans, and a place to stop for lunch.

And somehow, she’s always right.

Her friends often joke that Carla can pack for a week-long adventure in less time than it takes most people to decide what to bring.

The truth is, she simply enjoys the process.

The maps.

The routes.

The hidden attractions.

The perfect picnic spot beside a quiet lake.

To Carla, planning isn’t work.

It’s part of the adventure.

She believes every trip should be comfortable, memorable, and just flexible enough to allow for unexpected discoveries. That’s why she and Carl make such a great team.

Carl finds the adventure.

Carla makes sure they can enjoy it.

Whether she’s exploring canoe routes, visiting small-town docks, discovering quiet waterfront parks, or mapping out the next weekend getaway, Carla always looks for ways to make a good trip even better.

Her dream is simple.

To plan the perfect journey.

Not because everything goes exactly according to plan.

But because the people she travels with return home with stories they’ll never forget.

As one of the Animals of Rumble, Carla represents preparation, thoughtful travel, and the belief that great adventures happen when curiosity meets good planning.

If you meet Carla on the road, don’t be surprised if she knows exactly where the next fuel stop is, where to find the best pie in town, and which scenic overlook is worth the extra ten minutes.

Because while others are still figuring things out, Carla has already thought ahead.

Carla’s Motto

“A little planning creates a lot of adventure.”

Fun Fact: 💡 Carla once planned an entire week-long road trip with color-coded maps, backup routes, emergency snacks, and a list of local attractions—and still left room for Carl’s unexpected detours.
