Current Carl – his story

Current Carl follows the water.

Born along the waterways of Cumberland House, Saskatchewan, Carl learned early that rivers have a way of leading you somewhere interesting if you’re willing to follow them.

Like the river otter he represents, Carl is playful, curious, and always on the move. He doesn’t believe every adventure needs a detailed itinerary. Sometimes the best journeys begin with a simple question:

“I wonder where that road goes?”

For Carl, the answer is usually toward a lake, a river, a boat launch, or a hidden shoreline waiting to be explored.

His friends often joke that Carl has a built-in compass that only points toward water. If there’s a river crossing nearby, he’ll find it. If there’s a hidden fishing town tucked away off the main highway, he’s probably already been there.

Dating Carla Rivers, Carl has found the perfect travelling companion. Together they spend their time exploring Saskatchewan’s endless network of rivers, lakes, wetlands, and backroads, always searching for the next hidden gem.

Carl loves the freedom of discovery.

These are the places that make him happiest.

While some travellers focus on reaching their destination, Carl believes the journey itself is the destination. Every bend in the road and every curve in the river offers the possibility of something new.

His dream is simple.

To follow every waterway he can find and experience the communities, landscapes, and stories connected to them.

Because Carl knows that some of the most memorable adventures happen just beyond the places everyone else rushes past.

As one of the Animals of Rumble, Current Carl represents freedom, curiosity, and the willingness to let adventure unfold naturally.
